It is not that alternatives never exist; it is that this is nothing like staying in central Rethymno without a car. Budget for one, and book it early in high season.

The immediate beach access is the property’s biggest strength — and it needs describing accurately. In front of the houses is a quiet, unorganised beach, reached via the property’s access path and shared with a small number of neighbouring homes.

Greek beaches are public by law, so this is not an exclusive, guests-only beach — it is a secluded stretch of coast used mostly by the people staying around it. Do not expect organised sunbed rows, lifeguards or beach bars.
